The Fuquay Mineral Spring Inn and Garden Bed & Breakfast is a designated historic Landmark in the Fuquay Springs historic district. It sits on a prominent location on a hill opposite the historic Fuquay Mineral Spring Park.
The inn was built in 1927 and was home to the Cozart family who owned a local hotel. Dr. Wiley Cozart and his family were prominent local citizens who used the home for many social gatherings over the years. Dr. Cozart served as the town’s mayor for 10 years and his wife was an avid gardener who kept the property beautifully landscaped. The traditions of the original owners continue today. As a bit of an interesting coincidence, innkeeper John Byrne is the current mayor of Fuquay Varina. His wife Patty teaches English at the local high school. They still use their home and beautiful gardens to entertain many of their friends and inn guests.

The couple spent a year and a half converting the home into a bed and breakfast which opened in 2001. The bed and breakfast has 5 spacious guest rooms each with an elegant private bathroom, cable television service, wireless internet and Bose radios. The rooms have various bed arrangements offering good options for different types of travelers. For example, you can stay in the Carriage House which offers a King in the bedroom and a fold-out sofa in the living area or book two twin beds in The Painted Bunting Room. Four of the rooms are named after birds where the fifth room, the Carriage House Suite is the inn’s largest and nicest room with a beautiful view over the property’s expansive gardens.
The inn’s beautifully landscaped gardens invite guests in to relax and sit for a while. Here, you’ll find many beautiful types of flowers and a variety of herbs which are used in the cooking classes at the inn and in your morning breakfast.
Each morning during your stay, you’ll start your day with a tasty breakfast spread which is usually made up of fresh fruit, pastries, corn grits, baked apples, bacon and eggs.
The comfortable and elegant rooms at the Fuquay Mineral Spring Inn provide the perfect backdrop for a romantic getaway but children are also welcome and families will find the property well-fitting for them as well. The town of Fuquay-Varina is conveniently located in northern Wake County, NC near Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Cary, Durham and Fayetteville giving guests access to attractions and business opportunities throughout the region of North Carolina known as the Triangle
The property is situated near the Fuquay Mineral Spring itself which was discovered on a local farm in 1858. The springs became a popular place to relax due to the mineral-rich water which people believed would cure a variety of ailments. A visit to the historic park just across the street from the inn is a must while you are staying at the inn. Make sure to have a drink of the spring water and see if the healing claims hold true! Once you’ve explored the historical park, you can walk to the old downtown of Fuquay Springs, which is less than a block away. Here, shopping and dining opportunities abound There are more than 30 unique, local shops at Shoppes on Main as well as sweets shops, bakeries, and boutique clothing stores and plenty of places to grab a bite to eat.
Other things to do nearby include visiting the Raven Rock State Park, which features interesting rock formations and opportunities for hiking, fishing and canoeing or visiting the many attractions in the cities of Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill or Fayetteville.
