One of the most frequently requested lodgings is “Dove in the Window” because of the size of its bathroom, which is almost as large as the room itself.

The Innkeepers, Glenn and Susan Miesch, and the staff are passionate about creating magical memories for their guests. Therefore the rooms have personalized touches for the guests’ stay.

One of the fantastic things about the Inn is that they have provisions for group vacations.

The Inn is only one block from San Juan Island’s historic downtown, historic old town, and Friday Harbor’s busy waterfront. In addition, the Tuckers are within walking distance of a beautiful array of shops, antique stores, art galleries and fine dining. San Juan Islands’ central shopping district is also one block away.

Clarence Tucker built the Inn in 1898, and it has been updated with new furnishings that depict the furnishings from its historical past as a part of Friday Harbor.

Activities and Places

Staying at the Tucker House Inn and Harrison House suites, guests have a couple of fun activities to engage themselves in. The staff at the Inn are always ready to guide you and suggest places for fun activities.

Kayaking

Kayaking and paddling are available for interested guests. A vacation at St. Juan Islands is not complete without Kayaking in the waters of the Pacific.

If you do not have experience kayaking, you should sign up for a tour guide. There are dozens of kayak outfitters to book with.

Whale watching

The San Juan Islands are home to resident and transient killer(orca )whales. Tour guides on whale watching expeditions educate tourists on the dwindling population of the Southern Resident Killer Whales(SRKW).

There are whale-watching outfitters with boats for a private group and as large as a few dozen people. The chances of sighting a whale increase with a professional guide.

Cooking classes

The Tucker House provides cooking classes for interested guests with chefs at the Coho restaurant. This seasonal activity is made available on request and costs 125 dollars per person and comes with a 25 dollars dinner voucher at Coho Restaurant.

Wine Tasting

A bit of wine makes everything better. A vacation/getaway to St. Juan Island is more fulfilling with wine tasting. Vineyards and wineries on the Island organize wine tastings. From sweet white wines to bold red wines and natural sparkling to tease and satiate your palates, vineyards, and wineries on the Island

Coho Restaurant

Fine dining remains one of the highlights of a great vacation. There are over 30 restaurants within a few miles of the Inn. Coho Restaurant is a block away from the Inn, serving fresh local seafood and some of the best steaks. Meals at the restaurant are farm-to-table to support local farmers. The restaurant prepares every meal from scratch and has one of the finest wine collections from California, Oregon, and some international producers.

You can book a reservation for private dining. The restaurant also offers off-site catering for events.

The Whale Museum

The first fascinating thing about the Whale Museum is the mural of swimming whales on the wall.

Upon entering the museum and climbing to the upstairs section, you feel transported to the bottom of the ocean, with painted undersea plants and orcas around you.

Do you know the natives of the Island consider orcas their ancestors? They believe they were the first to settle on the Island.

A visit to the Whale Museum takes you back in history. There is a collection of Whalebones and skeletons from the grey Whale to humpbacks and orcas. You can also listen to recorded Whale songs caught on hydrophones.

Events and Nuptial Packages

The Inn’s location off the pacific coast is perfect for celebrating birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and other special events.

Getting married on the coast of the Pacific indeed sounds like a fairytale kind. But, do you dream of exchanging your vows and getting married on a yacht, in a vineyard, or on the beach? Tucker House Inn and Harrison House suites make destination weddings a reality. You can hire planners on the Island to take care of everything, from decorations to catering. The facilities are large enough for a big wedding party. But, there are also plans for small intimate ceremonies at our venues.

From complimentary continental breakfast to afternoon snacks, Tucker House Inn and Harrison House suites are renowned for their excellent job of feeding their guests. Breakfast is a complimentary three-course gourmet served at the Garden cafe or delivered to your suite door. It can also be packaged to go for you.

The staff at the Inn provides alternative meals for guests with food allergies and dietary restrictions, such as low-carb, vegan, gluten-free, vegetarian, or diabetic. Tucker House Inn provides bikes for its guests to explore the Island.

The Inn suites and vacation cottages permit you to bring your furry companion along, and a stay in any of the suites, plus a pet fee gives your pet a homemade pup cake on arrival, breakfast, and a bag of treats to take home. This way, your pet also experiences the vacation.
