Osage Beach Bed and Breakfast | Inn at Harbour Ridge

Those looking for the perfect mid-state getaway will find it at The Inn at Harbour Ridge. Located in the heart of the triangle comprised of Kansas City, St. Louis, and Springfield, this Osage Beach Bed and Breakfast has seclusion secured in “the belly of the beast.”

From an aerial perspective (or googlemaps.com), the Lake of the Ozarks looks very much like a Chinese dragon in full dance display on New Year’s Eve. Midway on the lake, the Inn is tucked away on a peninsula off Red Barn Road and rests a short walk from one of the lake’s many inlets.

Visitors have the best of both worlds here. While the solitude and quiet of the lake beckon for rejuvenation, Springfield, Missouri, is a short 90-minute drive away for city attractions. If you prefer a major metropolitan area, St. Louis and Kansas City are a couple hour’s easy drive to the bright lights. Visiting a B&B in Middle America has its advantages and this quiet respite is the perfect place to enjoy the pastoral solitude or a centralized location to the big-city action.

About the Inn at Harbour Ridge

Built in the year 2000, the owners have done a masterful job maintaining the freshness and vibrant atmosphere at the Inn. With four rooms boasting private starlit hot tubs or Jacuzzis-for-two and fireplaces to ward off any nighttime chill from the lake, you can plan that romantic experience you’ve been neglecting. They even timed the opening for business twenty years ago on Valentine’s Weekend!

Views of the lake make relaxing on your private veranda a treat. Or if you prefer some quiet reading inside, pull up a comfy chair in one of the two common areas and work through that novel you’ve been saving for just the right time. There’s a great room on the lower level that opens to a large covered patio where you can enjoy a drink from the 19th Hole as you unwind by the gas-burning fireplace. While you’re at it, check out the community dock for some sun and boat-watching.

Amenities

The list of fun quirks and comforts at this beautiful retreat seems endless. From free wifi and luxurious linens to complimentary movies, music, and snacks, you will find some convenience included in your stay right at hand. Special delivery breakfast options and complimentary coffee tray at your door each morning are options bound to start your day with a smile.

Fireplaces in each room and private starlit hot tubs for two are available as well as cozy garden nooks and private verandas off each room. Get out for a complimentary paddleboat ride and then get the kinks worked out with a massage reservation (when available).

Activities

For such a remote location, there sure is a lot to do. Several golf courses close by will challenge even the most ardent hacker. Lake of the Ozarks State Park, Missouri’s largest, and Ha Ha Tonka State Park are two nearby sanctuaries for nature-lovers and those wishing to get out and stretch their legs while taking in the beautiful surroundings. Come and explore natural sinkholes, wondrous caverns, an enormous natural bridge, and other geologic oddities.

And shoppers rejoice! Just minutes away is the Osage Beach Outlet MarketPlace where you’ll find anything you need at one of the 65 retail stores. We’re not even lyin’ to say you’ll find something on sale every day!

There is a marina for boating, horseback riding stables, and numerous lakeside restaurants for dining while overlooking the scenic waterways. Trying to choose between miniature golf, go-kart tracks, 50 antique stores, and over 45 waterfront restaurants will leave you begging for some R&R back at Harbour Ridge.

Wineries play a significant part in drawing visitors to this part of the state as well. Missouri has over 130 wineries statewide! The area was known as the “Missouri Rhineland” in the 1800s due to its similarity to that region of Germany. It was also heavily influenced by the influx of German immigrants to the area. Seven Springs Winery and Golden Rock Winery are two of the six wineries within a short drive of the Inn. They make up part of the Lake of the Ozarks Wine Trail that is a must-see.

Breakfast

Breakfasts are a unique and customized experience at Harbour Ridge. Their passion for cooking and baking ensures you are in for fabulous fare to start your day. They’ll even share the recipes and are only too happy to give you the inside scoop on how to prepare them just so. And don’t hesitate to let them know about any special dietary needs you may have. With a little advance notice, they’ll make sure your special plate is their specialty.

Weddings

The joining of two souls in love is one of life’s great mysteries and worthy of grand celebration. Our gazebo overlooking the water is a fabulous location for your special day. Elopements are welcome as well and there is a surprising variety of packages from which to choose. With a lake that seems to surround you no matter which way you look and plenty of forestry and garden foliage providing the perfect backdrop for your photographs, your special day will be a memorable occasion for all who attend.

There is so much to love about a visit to the Inn at Harbour Ridge. Tucked all cozy and quaint on the banks of one of the Midwest’s prime vacation spots, your every whim is planned for in advance. As much as there is to see and do, from golf and adventure outings nearby to big-city action just a short drive away, the best choice might be right at home in the “belly of the beast.”
