Sitting on a sprawling estate in Danville, Ohio, enjoying a picnic, and mingling with new friends — could life get any better? Only you can answer that question after a stay at the White Oak Inn!
Leave the hustle and bustle of city life behind as you book a stay at the sprawling 14-acre White Oak Inn. This tranquil bed and breakfast is conveniently located in central Ohio and is only a one hour drive from Columbus, a two-hour drive from Cleveland, or a three-hour drive from Pittsburgh.
At the White Oak Inn, guests can opt to stay at one of the three accommodations: The Main Inn is a charming Craftsman-style home that is filled with more than 100 years of history. Each of the seven guest rooms have been lovingly restored and include complimentary beverages and snacks.
For something a little more secluded, the three Guest House rooms are an excellent choice. Each room contains a plush large bed, wood-burning fireplace, and television streaming DIRECTV. For those traveling with their pet, the Guest House rooms are the perfect accommodation for a small additional fee.
For the ultimate getaway, we recommend reserving one of the two authentic Log Cabins that are nestled in the forest behind the Inn. Discover your own private hideaway at this cozy wood cottage, where you can cuddle up by the fireplace during a brisk autumn evening, relax in the over-sized whirlpool tub, or enjoy a delicious breakfast spread on the private deck.
Speaking of food: some guests travel all the way to the White Oak Inn just to try the delicious homemade dishes that are lovingly baked by innkeeper Yvonne! Her delectable treats were inspired by the time she spent in the kitchen learning how to cook from her Welsh grandmother. In fact, her recipes are so noteworthy that she, along with seven other innkeeper friends, collectively known as the 8 Broads in the Kitchen, have published cookbooks and run a food blog.
Fans of Arthur Conan Doyle or aspiring armchair detectives, this one is for you: the White Oak Inn hosts exciting murder mystery weekends that will leave you on the edge of your seat — either in fits of giggles or in anticipation! Guests are invited to dress up based on the plot and solve a classical whodunnit puzzle: Will you be a poodle skirt-wearing socialite from the 50s, a hippie attending their friend’s wedding, or even an unemployed superhero? There are 5 scheduled murder mysteries every year that take place between November to April. Be sure to book your spot in advance.
For those who want to venture out, the White Oak Inn created a series of self-guided tours to explore nearby attractions. From delicious wineries to artisanal shops, antique markets, hidden gems, and their favorite local destinations, innkeepers Yvonne and Ian want to make sure you get the most out of your trip to the Amish Country. Other attractions include the Blue Barn Winery, which plays live music every day; a trip to Coblentz Chocolates, where you can watch (and taste!) delicious chocolates being made; or the much-awaited Holmes County Antique Festival, which happens every year in October.
You don’t have to look far to find your home away from home: it’s already waiting for you at the White Oak Inn!
