bnbfinder Officially Hits ‘Go’ on Bringing Travelers Professionally Managed Vacation Rentals, without Service Fees

Team of industry veterans from bedandbreakfast.com, Vrbo, Expedia Group and more prepare bnbfinder to become the hub for travelers to find and book vacation rentals without service fees

AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 2, 2024 bnbfinder, the book direct marketplace that has been connecting guests with unique bed and breakfasts, inns and boutique hotels for more than 25 years, today announced that travelers can now enjoy professionally managed vacation rentals on its platform, without service fees. bnbfinder is doubling down on its commitment to make travel more affordable again, while extending the peace of mind, high level of quality, and elevated hospitality experience that comes with staying in vacation rentals run by reputable, trusted professional property managers who make more revenue per booking than they can on any competing online travel agency (OTA).

“Whether a traveler plans to spend $200 or $2,000 per night on a property, getting nickeled and dimed with unnecessary service fees adds substantially to the cost of the trip,” said Eric Goldreyer, CEO of bnbfinder. “We’ve designed bnbfinder to be free to travelers while putting more revenue in the pockets of the property managers through our book-direct approach.”

Since May 2023, bnbfinder has added over 62,000 vacation rental listings from nearly 1,000 property management companies while partnering with vacation rental software platforms like Barefoot, Escapia, Lodify, Streamline and Track to ensure property managers could easily use the platform. Early adoption of bnbfinder among property management companies and partner integrations continues to accelerate in 2024.

Goldreyer, who became the owner and CEO of bnbfinder in 2019, brings over 25 years of experience in the travel and hospitality market. He originally founded bedandbreakfast.com, leading the company’s growth from its launch in 1995, which coincided with the entry of internet giants like Amazon, Yahoo and eBay in the same year, to the world’s largest online directory of professionally run bed and breakfasts and inns. HomeAway, now the Vrbo division of Expedia, acquired the company in 2010. Following bedandbreakfast.com, Goldreyer co-founded Turnkey Vacation Rentals, which became the second largest property management company in North America before its acquisition by Vacasa in 2021. He is also the co-owner of Sage Hill Inn & Spa, a boutique 20-room inn in the Texas Hill Country.

“bnbfinder is providing travelers the next-generation vacation rental marketplace and community, where making memories and creating new experiences doesn’t come with frustrating and unnecessary fees,” said Goldreyer. “Our team has established strong relationships, strategies and impressive growth, but we’ve just scratched the surface. In 2024, travelers can expect to see more than triple the number of vacation rental properties throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico added to our site, along with the introduction of new features and mobile capabilities for a great user experience.”

Industry veteran and co-founder of HomeAway Carl Shepherd, observes “vacation rental marketplaces have changed from efficiently putting the right traveler in the best property to charging travelers big percentages on the properties that pay them the most. bnbfinder is shifting the advantage away from the big OTAs and back to the manager, who is, after all, in charge of the entire traveler experience. As more and more property managers realize how much better they can serve their guests–while making more money–by using bnbfinder, they’ll see that both buyers and sellers win. And that is what a marketplace is supposed to do.”
